Isaac Wilson
The Isaac Wilson is the place to be. During the day we have a wide variety of great pub food on the menu, including plenty of special offers and it’s the perfect place for a well-priced drink in the evening.
The pub and the street in which it stands are named after Isaac Wilson. He was a director of the Stockton-Darlington railway, which began the development of Middlesbrough as an industrial town. Wilson became Mayor of Middlesbrough in 1854 and was later elected as MP for the town in 1878, remaining in that role until stepping down in 1892.
Originally from Kendal in Cumbria, Wilson took over control of the Tees Engine Works, at the corner of Grey Street and Commercial Street. The firm pioneered engineering on Teesside, manufacturing locomotives and other products for the railways.
Come on over to The Isaac Wilson any day of the week and you’ll find friendly staff, a nice pub atmosphere, great value food, and brilliant drinks deals.
